I'm very disappointed in your post CEO. This is the first show I've seen in a long time that is shows the decency of the human spirit. A real heart string tugger. It's motivated me to volunteer my time feeding the homeless at a rescue mission near where I live. Hopefully some day, I'll be well off and can afford to donate in not only time, but also through money like the well-to-do millionaires on the show.

The participants in this show are in it just as much for the "look at me" factor as any genuine philanthropic gesture. You can bet that each of these millionairs would find another way to draw attention to themselves in giving away $100k if they were not part of this show.

Anyone who has worked in NGO's for a while has experienced the major donor who wants to help, but only if the organization can provide something significant back to them. Giving, yes. True philanthropy? Doubtful.

My opinion is that the show is geared to the same audience as the Hilton/Ritchie "reality show", The Simple Life. What better entertainment for the masses than to see millionairs coming down to the blue collar level for a week. This show is only sustainable if the current economic crisis continues and affects more of the population that would then wish the secret millionair was in their midst.

Forgive your parents. They actually wrote Tipton, but he just sold their address to a compiler! I was more of a $64,000 Question kid, figuring I could EARN the money. Oh, my little heart broke when I learned it was rigged. I haven’t watched TV since.

The only reality show that interests me is Survivor: Global Economic Collapse.

In Baltimore, where I live, this show isn't going over too well. The wife of the major utility is one of the secret donors, which is all well and good. However, the utility has just been sold, the stock price has dropped in the last year from $140 to $26 and many people's pensions, locked into the stock price, are no longer viable. Additionally, the husband was offered an $18 million parachute. He's driven two old, well-respected Baltimore firms into the ground. Having his cheerleader wife appear on this program really left a bad taste for many people.
