		<description>I work in higher ed direct mail and email fundraising.  Could you incentivize consecutive years of giving? I imagine a special campaign designed to appreciate and retain first time donors. What if when donors give a certain number of years consecutively, their milestone gift is matched? You could design a series of educational/stewardship email communications talking about the importance of annual gifts and conveying a sense of urgency about making the next gift so they get additional funds for their favorite program.  Also, it could give donors a strong reason to upgrade their gift in the final milestone year to get the biggest match possible.  

And I love the idea of a contest. I&#039;ve been trying to figure out a way to do a photo contest so that we can use images made by students in our direct mail pieces.
