		<description>Roger has suggested that non-profits consider how they would act if there were no new donors as a guideline to improving donor relations &amp; fundraising effectiveness.   If reckless articles such as this one stir public fear and the politicians continue to view privacy regulation as an &quot;easy win&quot;, then this scenario could indeed become reality.

It&#039;s probably preaching to the choir in the context of Agitator readers, but our industry needs to continue educating the public on the ethical (and of course legal) ways in which we attempt to bring new donors into the fold.  For the large majority of non-profits who try to act in the best interest of their donors and prospects, a great disservice is being done through fear-mongering articles like the one in WSJ.</description>
